Model Railraods

While you may not be able to climb aboard, literally, before you know it you will be lost in mesmerization over a small scale model train. These aren't just for little kids...grown-ups alike collect these by the hundreds. Full layouts with tiny towns, car replicas, mountains, and more dress up these model railroad layouts. A few weeks ago, we stopped by a garage sale and hit the jackpot of a collectors lifetime! Almost 100 model railroad trains and cheaply priced. The man was glad they were going to a good home and made my husband a deal for the lot. Unbelievable! Different scales (sizes) of model trains attract collectors. Whatever your fancy, it's out there! Check out our train pictures to look at a few pics of model railroad layouts we have taken. It's just a start...become a follower as we will add new over the next year and more!

Rio Grande Scenic Railroad

Rio Grande Scenic Railroad

The Rio Grande Scenic Railroad’s steam and diesel train rides take you through mountain valleys and passes on a historical journey filled with scenic views.
At 9 a.m. the whistle blows and when they say don't be late...they mean it! On time and down the line the train leaves the station with passengers from different walks of life----from different parts of the world.

This train excursion takes its passengers along a scenic journey through valleys and passes and over La Veta Pass chugging its way through arid dry grass land swaying its way along the rails until it reaches the mountains. The train navigates it's way through low rocky bluffs, (close enough to touch) tunnels, and other natural settings. If on the full day excursion there will be a two hour stop for lunch and shopping. (try the whistle stop bbq directly behind where the train stops) Thumbs Up!!!

visit them on the web for more info at www.riograndescenicrailroad.com

We enjoyed this relaxing trip and the staff was wonderful! If you have never taken a train ride....Do! Pack your camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, jacket, and so forth. They do have open cars at the back....even if you pay for the dome seats...children love the open cars!
